The students at Edwardsburg High School in Edwardsburg, Michigan, USA investigated the important issue of plastic water bottle waste in collaboration with the Amideast Access group in Ajloun. Together they created an action project and a petition about the reduction of the issue, and the students have stated the following in regards to the problem and their project:
“We came up with this project to reduce the amount of plastic water bottles consumed worldwide. Plastic waste is a very extreme problem and hardly anyone is taking a stand against it. Refusing to open a single bottle of water is the start to saving the planet.”
This student project was created as part of YouthTalk 2016, a youth virtual exchange program that connects students in the US and the Arab World. It is run by the Global Nomads Group, in partnership with Bridges of Understanding.
