Students at Safout Secondary School for Girls, in Safout / Ain Al-Basha, Amman, Jordan worked with their peers in Tallwood Academy in Virginia, USA to investigate the littering culture in Jordan. They designed a solar powered trash bin that would attract young people by it's pictures of cartoons on it, and would encourage young people to put waste in the garbage bin as opposed to on the ground. The solar power would power a light to signal when someone has used the bin and excite the students that used it correctly.
The student project was created as part of Youth TechCamp 2015, a youth virtual exchange program that connects students in US and Jordan. It is run by Global Nomads Group, in partnership with US Embassy of Amman, Jordan.
