Students at Al Fatah D school in Jerusalem, Palestine, worked together to investigate the issue of child labor in their country. They carried out an extensive research and found that child labor stemmed from the poor education system, poverty, and house demolition. This has caused many children to drop out of school and immediately start working whether selling different things behind a stall or fixing things. This group of students found that this issue has a negative impact on students who can afford education and don’t have to work to provide for their families. They not only feel guilty but also put pressure on themselves to bring awareness in their society and fix the issue of child labor
This student project was created as part of Youth Talk program, a youth virtual exchange program that connects students in North America and the Middle East and North Africa. It is run by Global Nomads Group, in partnership with Bridges of Understanding.
