The students at the Jabri School in Casablanca, Morocco investigated the important issue of messy classrooms in collaboration with the Carl Schurz High School in Chicago, USA. Together they created an awareness campaign about the problem of messy classrooms for classroom cleaners. The students have said the following about their project:
“Jabri School is a private school. Cleaners are hired to clean the premises when the students have left at 6:00 pm. The rooms are usually a big mess in the evening and cleaners have to stay behind to clear all the litter. This action is done every evening of the week days. Students who participate in the project have decided to do something about this problem. They interviewed the cleaners and decided to make a short video about the problem. They also visited some classrooms to raise the awareness of the problem to their classmates. The video will be shown to parents and administrators at the end of year party.”
This student project was created as part of YouthTalk 2016, a youth virtual exchange program that connects students in the US and the Arab World. It is run by the Global Nomads Group, in partnership with Bridges of Understanding.
