The students at Safout Secondary School For Girls in Amman, Jordan investigated the important issue of terrorism in collaboration with the Advanced Math & Science IV School in New York, USA. Together they created an awareness campaign about the problem of terrorism, and the students have stated the following in regards to the issue and their project:
“We chose the project because Jordan is situated between many countries which suffer from terrorism such as Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria. We searched the net and the library. We met some Palestinian and Syrians refugees. We gathered pictures and made a short film. Our project’s goal is to raise awareness against the danger of terrorism.”
This student project was created as part of Campfire 2016, a youth virtual exchange program that connects students in the US, Jordan, and Pakistan. Campfire is run by Global Nomads Group. Campfire is made possible thanks to the generous support of our partners The Bezos Family Foundation, an award from the Aspen Institute Stevens Initiative with support from the U.S. Department of State and the Bezos Family Foundation, and additional support from PhotoWings, the U.S. Embassy in Amman, Jordan, the U.S. Consulate in Lahore, Pakistan, and the Yahoo Employee Foundation.
