Students at Lakeridge Jr. High School in Orem, Utah worked together to carry about a week-long campaign called Peace Week 2017. Students looked at global issues and decided to start small in their own community, using their conflict trees, students couldn't agree on one conflict or issue they wanted to address, so they decided to address multiple issues. Peace Week came from compromise and students chose the issues they wanted to address and hosted school activities each day for a week. They wanted to positively impact the school community and this project impacted hundreds of students who participated.
This student project was created as part of Youth Talk program, a youth virtual exchange program that connects students in North America and the Middle East and North Africa. It is run by Global Nomads Group, in partnership with Bridges of Understanding.
