The students at Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere, New York, USA investigated the important issue of prejudice on children's lives in collaboration with Al Fata'a Al-Lagea School in Jerusalem. Together they created an awareness campaign about the problem, and the students have stated the following in regards to the issue and their project:
“The project's goal was to reach an audience of middle and high school students in raising awareness of how prejudice affects and impacts a child's life. The IVCs with our partner school inspired us students to choose this topic when we learned that the girls at Al-Fata' planned to volunteer at an orphanage.”
This student project was created as part of YouthTalk 2016, a youth virtual exchange program that connects students in the US and the Arab World. It is run by the Global Nomads Group, in partnership with Bridges of Understanding.
