The students at Carleton Washburne Middle School in Winnetka, Illinois, USA investigated the important issue of hunger and starvation in collaboration with Haque Academy in Karachi, Pakistan. Together they created an action project: Washburne's Team, Imagine 8th Graders, researched hunger and did a fundraiser and field trip for the NGO, Feed My Starving Children. They raised enough money and packed enough food to feed 111 children for an entire year!
This student project was created as part of Global Citizens in Action 2015-16, a youth virtual exchange program that connects students in the US, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. GCA is run by Global Nomads Group, in partnership with PEACE in Pakistan.
